Welcome to the FAQ page for Loon Lake Retreat! Here, you'll find answers to all your questions about our picturesque getaway.

How do we get there?

We are located near In Gravenhurst, ON International Travellers – Pearson Airport We are approximately 1.5 hours away from the main international airport
When can I check in?

Self check-in is any time after 3:00pm. You will receive your entry code once the reservation has been confirmed.
When do I check out?

Check-out is 11am
How many people are allowed to stay at the cottage?

We can comfortably host 6 people to stay overnight.
Are towels and linens provided?

Yes! We provide your bed linens, towels, beach towels and even robes for the sauna so that when you arrive, you feel right at home.
Are we allowed to use the canoe and kayaks for free?

Absolutely! We provide 2 kayaks and one canoe and they are complimentary for our guests to enjoy during their stay!
How is swimming at the cottage? Can I swim during my stay?

Yes! The water is amazing to swim in! You can walk in from the sandy beach or jump into deep water (9ft) off the dock. Floaties are provided for lounging as well.
What should I pack for my cottage vacation?

In the spring and summertime we recommend bringing: Insect repellent and sunscreen. Your bathing suit Clothes Toiletries Food and condiments A Propane tank During seasons where it can get cold at night it’s helpful to pack layers of clothing so that you can add and remove layers as needed to always be comfortable.
Is my PET allowed to come?

WE LOVE DOGS! And, yes, dogs are permitted to join you on your cottage adventure. Please let us know at the time of booking that your furry friend will be coming with you. We know sometimes accidents happen, and if one occurs, the repair / additional cleaning costs would be subtracted from your security deposit. What are your house rules for pets? Please pick up after your pet. Extra dog bags provided. No pets on the couches, unless you bring your own blanket and cover the couches. What is there to do for my pet? Long walks in the forest Being on chipmunk duty Jumping off the dock, or walking into the water from the beach. Do you have wifi?

We sure do! Whether you’re working from home or needing to stay in touch, you can find comfort in knowing our wifi is strong, free and unlimited so you can zoom, binge, or scroll without any interruptions.
Can I smoke?

No smoking or vaping of any kind is allowed in the cottage. You may smoke in designated smoking areas outside.
Is the tap water drinkable?

The water from the faucets comes directly from the lake. It goes through a dual filter system, and is safe to wash with. We prefer not to drink it, and provide jugged water during your visit

Are there booking fees?

Booking with us directly will save you hidden fees and costs. However, we do operate on Airbnb as well.
What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that sometimes life happens and reservations need to be altered. To receive a full refund guests must cancel at least 30 days before check-in. Deposits are non-refundable if cancellations are made less than 30 days prior to check in.
